This Is Not Art 2010 festival - I only made it to a couple of events / sessions on the sunday this year, but once again it was a great day. learnt a lot at the AbleYOUton workshop and the teacher (Toby Burvill??) from 104 collective was so nice. he even introduced me to a new music genre - wonky (type of hip hop?). loved the Splinter Orchestra! a nice quiet, introspective performance inside in the China Club venue and then crazy uninhibited fun outside the gates in the Hunter mall once the venues closed. even heard one guy next to me talking to his friends on the phone saying, "hey you've got to come here right now, I'm watching the most amazing thing!". zine fair was great once again and I spent way too much there (luckily I'd saved up a bit for it this year).

Performance Space in association with dualpLOVER invites you to Auraltered State #1 the first of eight free performances to be conducted across 2010 focusing on the music of New South Wales as heard through the ears of Lucas Abela. The performances will cross a wide spectrum of music from the state with a focus on some of our more entertaining, innovative, unusual and new thought artists. THE KADIMA MUSICIANS COLLECTIVE is in the vanguard of creative improvised music in Israel. Focusing on fringe artists and their work, KADIMA supports and develops the rich cultural mix of Israeli artistic life.
KADIMA includes a recording label and recording facilities in Jerusalem. It promotes and co-produces studio releases and concerts, and helps develop and connect musicians in the field of free improvisation and creative music.
KADIMA was founded and is led by Jean Claude Jones, bassist and educator, and one of the pioneers of Israeli jazz.

STEIM (the studio for electro-instrumental music) is the only independent live electronic music centre in the world that is exclusively dedicated to the performing arts. The foundation's artistic and technical departments supports an international community of performers and musicians, and a growing group of visual artists, to develop unique instruments for their work. STEIM invites these people for residencies and provides them with an artistic and technical environment in which concepts can be given concrete form. It catalyzes their ideas by providing critical feedback grounded in professional experience. These new creations are then exposed to a receptive responsive niche public at STEIM before being groomed for a larger audience.
