Amnesty International FREEDOM Festival 05

The FREEDOM Festival is an annual national music festival that aims to raise funds and awareness of Amnesty International's work to promote and defend human rights programs worldwide.

This year's FREEDOM Festival is raising awareness for Amnesty International's global "Stop Violence Against Women" campaign. Specifically, this includes women's rights to freedom from violence, fear, discrimination and torture, as set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

These campaigns aim to draw attention to the obligations of governments and communities to stop violence against women in the broader pursuit of human rights. FREEDOM's focus in 2005 is specifically targeted at domestic violence in Australia.

Monaco a Go Go - Team Plastique & Monster Zoku Onsomb in Berlin

Team Plastique love the Monaco Royal Family - they are fun, trashy and tragic, like every Royal family should be (...or actually is). Monaco-a-go-go will be a scandalous night of Eurotrash glamour - Think international Playboys, Circus Trapeze Lovers, Bodyguard Romances and Tragic Princesses. Catch the Princess Stephanie Dancers - the ultimate tribute to Monaco's own chain smoking, former fashion model, swimsuit designer and Rock Band Singer. Booty dance with the Air Hostess Go-Go's from Togo named after the mother of Prince Albert's scandalous illegitimate child. Performing on the night are Team Plastique - www.team-plastique.com (Berlin), Monster Zoku Onsomb - www.monsterzoku.com (Australia), Instantremovers - (Amsterdam), with visuals by Alex and Jeremy (Amsterdam) - www.alexetjeremy.com

one word movie

One Word Movie is an on-line platform which organizes, based on user-supplied terms, the flood of images on the Internet into an animated film. A word turns into images, images turn into a movie. This project plays with the tension between on-line and cinematic approaches to images. What images are associated with what words? One Word Movie reveals a glimpse into the "collective psychology" of online cultures by showing patterns of word-image associations, as created by millions of people around the world.

ctrl_alt_del was the first sound-art festival realized in Turkey, in September 2003. It was a collaboration between NOMAD, Marres, Hedah, and Istanbul Technical University Center for Advanced Musical Studies (MIAM). ctrl_alt_del hosted by NOMAD and Istanbul Technical University - MIAM is being held in spetember 2005 and will be an experiment in aural stimulation and urban awareness. Taking the city of Istanbul as the ground for this experimentation, ctrl_alt_del seeks to observe, activate and cultivate a series of idiosyncratic possibilities this city provides, under the rubric of the 'buffer zone'. NOMAD and MIAM would like to receive interesting, provocative, experimental and sophisticated works. About 10 pieces will be selected among the entries by a jury to be performed during the ctrl_alt_del 2 festival on 22 September 2005, in front of an international audience. read more for details or visit http://project-ctrl-alt-del.com
