NICHE MARKETING: SCREEN PACKAGING & PRODUCING SEMINAR

This weekend, Chris Auty, CEO of major UK production and finance outfit, The
Film Consortium, will join leading Australian film industry players to examine
problems confronting the industry and explore solutions, with emphasis on niche
markets, at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS).

The Film Consortium owns major sales company The Works. Last year both companies
enjoyed enormous success with:

Number one UK box office hit, Bend it Like Beckham;
Whale Rider, which has already grossed over $US 1 million at the US box
office;
Berlin Film Festival winner, In this World - a portrayal of Afghani refugees;
Cannes Film Festival winner, Sweet Sixteen by Ken Loach; and
24 Hour Party People by Michael Winterbottom.

Over the weekend, Auty will speak at the Saturday afternoon session, Niche
Market and The Platform Film; join the final panel discussion on how confidence
can be regained in the international market; and hold smaller consultations with
filmmakers.

Auty joins: Brian Rosen, CEO, Film Finance Corporation (FFC); Mark Gooder, CEO,
Icon Films; Gary Hamilton, CEO, Arclight; Carole Sklan, Head of Development,
AFC; Jan Sardi, Writer of Shine and Writer/director Love's Brother; and Sue
Maslin, Producer of Japanese Story.
