Now that Spring has finally made it, it's time to shake off those
winter woolies and hit the dance floor - and to what better

Paul Abad is a dj, producer, promoter, visual artist and community activator based in south east queensland. He has been part of the local music scene since 1998 and is now a regular on the east coast circuit. Paul has played at the rainbow serpent festival, qld earthcore mainstage two years running, exodus, earthfreq, submerge, woodford folk festival, liquid architecture, west end festival and countless other festivals/parties, and has supported acts such as Monolake, Future Sound of London, Dj Krush, Aes Dana, Talpa, Haltya, Richard Devine, Phoney Orphants, Thomas Brinkman, Phoenecia, Kazu Kimura, Bernd Friedman, Sun Control Species, Sensient etc.

The past 18 months have seen Paul's dj sets shift from more experimental territory to fully embracing breaks, techno and minimal with great initial success, But his outdoor sensibilities and years of delving in to futuristic glitch/abstract/psychedelic sonics still shine through in track selection and overall feel. Paul still occasionally plays chill/abstract sets. Tool of choice these days is laptop with Ableton live, ensuring a seamless and creative approach to mixing. The width of Paul's musical experience sees him playing everything from outdoor psychedelic parties to experimental/sound art gigs, from community festivals to warehouse breaks/hiphop nights.

After several years of organising outdoor parties in south east queensland, 2005 saw Paul launch Subterran, an events org focused on outdoor enviro/electronic music events. Now in its second season, Subterran's reputation is solidifying and has a series of parties and collaborations planned for 2007.
