Mi-Sun Pyo opened her spacious gallery space in 1981 in the heart of Seoul, Korea. Since then the gallery has gained a reputation for exhibiting cutting-edge Modern and Contemporary fine art in all genres: painting, sculpture, photography, installation, and video art. Works by such most notable artists in the Korean and international fine art scene like Nam-June Baik, Chang-Sup Chung, Ilia Heinig, Tschang-Yeul Kim, Duk-Jun Kwak, Hoon Kwak, Ufan Lee, David Nash, Sufan Oh, Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist, Byung-Yup Ryoo, Frank Stella, Rufino Tamayo and by artists with great potential such as Yong-Deok Lee, Sung-Tae Park, Seng-Ho Yoo, Jung-Jin Lee, Ho-Cheul Lee have graced our walls. The focus of our exhibition program has always been to expose major Korean and international modern and contemporary art to the Korean art community and to introduce new, talented Korean artists to the international art community.

Ilmin museum of art
The ilmin museum of art is run by the Ilmin Cultural Foundation, which aims to commemorate Kim, Sang-man who devoted his whole life to the promotion of the press and the culture. In the old office building of Dong-a Ilbo, the newspaper company, the history of the ilmin museum of art began as the Ilmin Center in 1994. It was then registered as the ilmin museum of art in Dec. 1996, and, then renovated into its current state in 2002.

Kukje Gallery
Since it opened in 1982, the Kukje Gallery has been at the forefront in representing the most current and significant tendencies in Korean and international contemporary art. The gallery has established itself as a leading venue for showing works by major international figures such as Helen Frankenthaler, Frank Stella, Robert Mangold, Anthony Caro, Cy Twombly, Ed Ruscha, Joseph Beuys, Anselm Kiefer, Louise Bourgeois, Rachel Whiteread, Jeff Wall, Bill Viola and Anish Kapoor. The exhibitions provide the first rare opportunity for the Korean art audiences to view the works of world-renowned contemporary artists without going abroad. In organizing these exhibitions, the Kukje Gallery works directly with the artists and their galleries and dealers worldwide, establishing important networks for future exchange and collaboration.

Keumsan Gallery has been showing contemporary art such as minimal art, installation and media art. Keumsan Gallery has been introducing Korean contemporary art to U.S, Japan, Taiwan, Germany through international exchange exhibitions and international art fair. Moreover, young promising artists such as Walter Valentini, Assadour, Michael Miller, Ota Saburo, Aoki Noe have been introduced into Korea through the interchange exhibitions.
